A non-profit gala to remember for the World Pediatric Project

A few months ago, Dover Hall had the distinct honor of being chosen to host the World Pediatric Project’s Annual Gala, Treasures in Paradise, and was a part of helping the organization surpass their fundraising goal of over half a million dollars! This event was planned in great detail by the incredible Dover Hall team and Tunstall Bagley-Willis with Grandeur & Grove Events, making for an unforgettable evening. “After nine years of Treasures being held in the same venue, WPP felt that it was time for a change. Their team was looking for something more intimate, and Dover Hall was the perfect fit. Dover Hall’s Nonprofit Partnership Program made the move to Dover Hall even more appealing. We welcomed 360 guests that evening, and the change in venue and style of the event, not to mention the fantastic seated dinner, left all the guests raving. I was thrilled to be a part of this newly designed event and look forward to the 2025 Treasures being at Dover Hall again,” said Tunstall. 

The mission of the World Pediatric Project is to help critically ill children and build indigenous healthcare capacity in the world. This mission is accomplished through effective programs that heal children today while building and implementing programs to heal the children of tomorrow. The Treasures in Paradise Gala featured the work that the organization does in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, so naturally Chef Leah and Dover Hall’s culinary team had a fabulous opportunity to get creative with the culinary experience. When guests arrived, they were treated to an explorative cocktail hour throughout the estate, which featured some Caribbean-inspired canapés, including a Mango & Red Snapper Ceviche, Grilled Shrimp and Pineapple Skewers, and Sorullos. During the cocktail hour, guests could choose to either roam the first floor or head down to the ballroom level, where the beautiful silent auction was displayed.

Guests were escorted to enjoy dinner and the live auction portion of the evening inside our climate-controlled Glass Hall. The space was completely transformed to include a large stage and digital backdrop, seating for 360 guests, two outside mobile bars, and gorgeous linens from Classic Party Rentals and décor decked out by Mosaic Events. After a quick welcome and remarks, the guests savored a delicious plated duet meal enjoyed by all. After dinner service was completed, guests enjoyed the programmatic portion of the evening, which included a tear-jerking mission moment recognizing a baby from St. Vincent and the Grenadines who would be receiving life-saving eye surgery through their services. Upon the conclusion of the mission moment, there was a live auction and an opportunity to paddle raise to fund the cause. At the end of the program, the guests learned that the organization had raised $505,000 that evening. The event concluded with dancing and merriment in our ballroom.

It was an honor for Dover Hall not only to host this event but also for our Non-Profit Partnership Program to be part of WPP's record-breaking fundraising! The great thing about this program is that we’ve designed it so there are options for non-profit organizations of all sizes. Kate Belleman, DHE's Director of Sales, says, "I know how hard it is to be on the planning committee for events like these, and the goal of this program is to ensure that our luxury properties are accessible to all. With this giveback program, we’ve seen companies’ budgets and guest counts increase because of the financial kickback we provide."
