A 1990s Ralph Lauren-Inspired Wedding at Dover Hall

Victoria and Aquiles' wedding at Dover Hall was a blend of classic style and personal heritage. Drawing inspiration from 1990s Ralph Lauren fashion and British hunting club aesthetics, they created a bold, autumnal atmosphere with a rich color palette and sophisticated textures.

The couple chose a deep, moody palette of Olive, Slate Blue, and Burgundy, perfectly suited for a crisp November celebration. Dark stained wood, chestnut brown leather, and traditional plaid added warmth and dimension, giving the space a refined yet inviting feel.

Honoring Aquiles’ Salvadoran roots, the menu was crafted by Dover Hall’s Executive Chef Leah Randolph, Virginia’s Chef of the Year (2023). Cocktail hour featured Agua Fresca in Kiwi, Strawberry, and Watermelon flavors, along with a horchata bar and passed canapes like ceviche and lamb chops. The plated dinner began with a Fig and Prosciutto salad, followed by Red Wine Braised Short Ribs and Airline Chicken Breast, and for dessert, a Housemade Pistachio and Mango gelato. And let’s not forget the life-sized ice sculpture of their adorable puppy, Nala—a unique and playful centerpiece for guests to admire during the reception.

Attention was given to every detail, especially when it came to the floral design. Grand, large-scale installations turned Dover Hall’s signature spaces into an enchanting botanical wonderland. The grand staircase was draped in greenery, neutral floral arrangements, and warmly lit standing glass candles. The towering 15-foot stone fireplace mantle became a breathtaking floral focal point during cocktail hour.

But the showstopper? A mesmerizing tunnel of greenery was woven into the entrance of the Glass Hall, creating a truly magical passageway to the Reception Hall. 

From classic fashion inspiration to exquisite cuisine and stunning floral artistry, Victoria and Aquiles’ wedding was full of unique designs and timeless elegance.
