The Billiards Room
a Teddy Roosevelt-inspired Trophy Room

Don't worry, you're only surrounded by 30 TAXIDERMY animals. The original owners were not hunters but rather collectors. The gavial CROCODILE, one of the most conversational pieces, was shot in the Ganges in 1908 and came from Eton College in England. It took two years to get the croc through customs. If you look closely enough, you'll even be able to see the bullet hole.

Give the WALLS a touch; they are upholstered with shrunken cow hide and are held in place by large brass nailheads hammered in by hand one by one.

The star of the room is the rare Brunswick Monarch POOL TABLE, circa 1895. Beneath the table, you'll find four lion statues gilted in gold. Legend has it that this table was finally acquired after bidding wars with Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The Victorian elk horn CHANDELIER anchors the room with its goatskin lampshades and precious stones. Acquired from Christie's in London, it required the removal of the door framing to be installed.
