The Great Room

an inviting, sun-filled room for casual activity

• The RUG you're walking on is an 1876 Kinver Turkey pattern reproduction carpet made especially for Dover Hall.

​

• This room contains the oldest piece in the home, the oak FIREPLACE MANTEL, dating back to the 1660s. Based on the wood carving, we are quite sure this was an engagement gift with the happy couple's initials carved into the mantle. 

​

• As you exit this room, you'll see on the other side of the mantelpiece a richly detailed Black Forest CLOCK.
